CGI MODELLING ARTWORK

AMBASSADOR CLASS Ambassador Class has only really been seen in any close detail once, as the Enterprise -C in TNG's 'Yesterday's Enterprise'. But the reason I built this model is simple: At the time I wanted to prove to myself that 24th century starships designs weren't beyond my capabilities. Until this point I had remained rigidly in the 22nd and 23rd century's as far as starship design goes. This was to help build a solid foundation of knowledge of starship creation in Lightwave 3D. Then, when the basics were mastered I planned to move on to more fluidic and modern starship designs. The ideal place to begin in helping guide me through this process was to build the Ambassador class. From here I hoped to move on to the even more technically difficult Galaxy Class, right up to designing my own classes from the late 24th century, those contemporary to the likes of Prometheus, Bradbury and Nova, etc. These images display the evolution of the mesh's construction. As far as visual references go I only had existing pictures and model photos to work with to help me construct the ship. It proved challenging in certain areas, as all 3D modeller novices will appreciate. But I was relatively pleased with these results....
There's still a few details to iron out. Most specifically are the details for the secondary hull, which I've yet to finish windowing. And the deflector and Impulse engines aren't completed. So there's still a bit more work to do on it. But this is the basic rendered mesh. This is a very old mesh now, and I've come a hell of a long way since then. Eventually I will rebuild it.
Please Email Me fellow 3D starship modellers, I'd welcome your feedback / suggestions...
