MIRANDA CLASS This is an addition to my collection of canon ship classes. I've never been a huge fan of Miranda, but since building her the design has grown on me. Here's some pictures of my progress.
With the bare bones of the hull complete, textures and detail to the hull is next.
It was starting to come along by this stage, and the first textures were in place. So far this has been quite a challenging ship to get right.
There are still some things to finish off here, such as some modelled windows, and a few more textures. The garish light blue colour for the bridge module is only temporary...
This was more or less the finished article (minus a few bits and pieces towards the back, not to mention the impulse engines...), plus a few other details were left outstanding...
The obligatory beauty shot (an early one)
UPDATE....
I continued to refine certain details, such as the panelling to the top of the secondary hull, and the windows facing forward being modelled, rather than textured.
Newer shots, with the rear side and underside complete.
Final beauty shots.

MIRANDA CLASS -Pre Reliant Refit This is speculative model of what the Miranda may have looked like before the refit. There's little doubt in fandom that the original Miranda Class was a TOS contemporary, and was refitted during the 2270's. We've seen plenty of Miranda variants over the years, the first of which was the USS Reliant, seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
The main differences are the obvious TOS style appearance, and the fact that it has two separate impulse engines instead of one, and a single shuttlebay aft, instead of two with the later variants.
