CGI MODELLING ARTWORK

NEW ORLEANS CLASS This was the last of the 'obscure' Wolf 359 classes left to model, and a continuation of the Galaxy Class family. Fortunately there was more information and existing pictures of the original model than the others, so I had a lot more to go on as far as getting it accurate. All that's left to do now is complete the Galaxy Class itself, and the Nebula Class (some refinements outstanding), and the Galaxy family will be complete. I gave this model of the USS New Orleans prototype the registry of NCC 61008. This was a stupid and careless error, as the one registry I missed was that of the Rutledge, whose registry is NCC 57295, which is lower than the New Orleans, so this obviously can't be right. When I noticed this soon after building the mesh I cursed out loud many times, believe me. But as the reg is modelled into the saucer, and not textured, it's too late to do anything about it, unless I rebuilt the saucer! If I get in a very fastidious mood I may simply model over it, but that would take to poly count higher...

The virtually complete mesh, but without any textures yet.
The first textures take their place.
More or less finished now....
Update Thanks to the new DVD captures, and the resulting analysis, further development of the New Orleans model was possible... Update, Nov 4th '03 Made a few refinements to the saucer.
