NIAGARA CLASS As you may recall I made the bold statement some time ago that I intended to build models of every canon-ship, non-canon ship and 'virtual canon' ship that exists (non-canon includes only my speculative non-canon universe...) Well this is one of those virtual canon ship classes. Well it's really actual canon, but has only been seen once, and then only in an intense state of disrepair. This was one of those now legendary Wolf 359 ships, and one of my new current projects is to build those ambiguous Wolf 359 ships. So here's Niagara. I've been doing some liasing with Bernd about this whilst planning the project, and if you have further interest in the fascinating subject of the ships of Wolf 359 then pay this page a visit...

My 3d model here is based solely on the model photo, and Bernd's drawing, hence there isn't a great deal of information to go on. As this was a studio kitbash utilizing parts from other class models, noticeably Galaxy Class (nacelles) and Ambassador Class (secondary hull) I have a reasonable clue to scale, dimensions and attributes. The only real part built from scratch was the saucer. But this three-nacelled class is still considered part of the Ambassador/Apollo Class family.
With the nacelles properly sized it was at this point more consistent with the model photo...
Final renders of this version
UPDATE These are some basic renders of the updated mesh, now more consistent with the model, in both dimensions and detail.

Just a speculation, and it needs more work. For one thing the saucer would probably require completely rebuilding, and I'd imagine the nacelle pylons to be quite different from the refit.
Key differences between the imagined Niagara prototype and the known refit.
