SPACE STRUCTURES Here I'm going to display a few simple shots of various space stations, yards, and structures that I've built. These have been used in certain scenes, mainly as ancillary objects and backdrop fillers, and as such they are in some cases fairly low poly/detail. This is an older mesh which I occasionally pull out to use in a space scene
UTOPIA -1 CONTROL This is a newer mesh. It is a small starbase structure, of my own speculation, located at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, Mars. It is a key player in the upcoming ASDB movie I'm working on. Here's few test renders of the base...
The base is similar to the much larger starbase/spacedock type. But this has no internal docking facility. The complex's main purpose is a regional administrative centre of control for the yards. Other such bases are spread out across the orbital yard facility.
On the left here is the main access gantry leading to the docking towers inside the drydock structure.
DRYDOCK These are a couple of images of the drydock which I also created for the movie. It has since appeared in a few scenes, one of which being the Utopia Planitia still image at the top of the page.
In that scene you will also notice a different, wider style of drydock. This was a simple alteration to the original mesh to cater for the larger, and wider starships of the 24th century, such as the Galaxy and Nebula Classes.
This low resolution still frame is from a rough cut test sequence of the upcoming ASDB movie. I won't be issuing any further preview stills for some time! AUXILARY VEHICLES I haven't got round to building the entire array of small service craft one might expect to see flying around starbases and construction yards like a swarm of insects. Indeed, the Workbee craft is one such model I want to make. The only one so far that features in the movie (set in the 23rd century), is the shuttlecraft / cargo pod vehicle, seen here in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The model is loosely based on this vehicle:
SPACEFRAME ASSEMBLY UNIT This facility is a common sight at Utopia Planitia yards. It is where the main skeletal structure and principle hull work of a starship under construction is completed.
Here, a Nebula Class saucer is being constructed.

ORBITAL HABITAT COMPLEX Finally, at Earth and Mars are multiple orbital habitat facilities. I only built this model for the Utopia Planitia scene for backdrop detail, and hence, it is not a high detail, high polygon model. It wouldn't stand up to close scrutiny. It's fine though in the background of a scene.
