A medium sized 'limited edition' Cruiser that at the time had a high level of durability. Built over a period of two and a half years, 50 were constructed, but their field applications were dominated by faster and more powerful vessels of other classes, particularly the Independence Class, which was planned simultaneously but was commissioned a few years later. The Antipodes Class still carried out her assignments, often under the deployment tag of Explorer, but became less preferable, and further construction orders were shelved as the superior and out performing Nebulas, and existing Ambassadors were favoured as the figureheads for the fleet. These days the Antipodes can be found patrolling the corridors of the inner ring and, sometimes as wandering sentries between key colonies.

As this class is only of my own speculation, all specs and stats appearing here are hypothetical. The explanations about this data, such as ship designations, weapons, offensive power etc, see Spec Definitions.
