Another new edition to the rapidly growing fleet. Built at the Antares Fleet Construction Yards, this fairly small but robust new starship has an average crew compliment of 75-85, most of which operate in various scientific fields. This class has a safe sustainable speed of warp 9.975, after being quickly recalled for warp core upgrades and modifications in 2371. Its field missions do not normally involve long range deployments, but when not assigned to studying nebulae et al, makes do with running the lanes between colonies and Starbases moving supplies and personnel.,,,

*A ship would visit drydock for many reasons, including refits, repairs, servicing upgrades, preliminary trials and testing of new components, and spacedock for similar reasons, as well as crew rotation, reassignment, prep period before redeployment, and so forth.
