Mid 24th century Heavy Cruiser built in small numbers. Named after the Egyptian King from the 13th century BC, this class did not have construction picked up into the 2350's, as resources were channeled into the Nebula and Galaxy Class projects, which were faster, had superior arms, and were planned to be the primary flagship classes. But the Rameses prototype, designed as an Tactical Cruiser, came equipped with a special tactical response fighter unit, and in tight combat situations could launch up to 15 Peregrine Class attack fighters from the huge, multi-tiered aft launch bay. It was an experimental idea for the larger starships to have this unique capability. Colossus Class was the only other later class to possess this tactical measure.

*A ship would visit drydock for many reasons, including refits, repairs, servicing upgrades, preliminary trials and testing of new components, and spacedock for similar reasons, as well as crew rotation, reassignment, prep period before redeployment, and so forth.
As this class is only of my own speculation, all specs and stats appearing here are hypothetical. The explanations about this data, such as ship designations, weapons, offensive power etc, see Spec Definitions.
