Footnote *
-The Pasteur is acknowledged on the list above, though it was only portrayed in the anti-time future in 'All Good Things'. But one can assume by its registry number that it has indeed been constructed, and is in active service...
-The Encyclopedia lists the USS Biko as being an Olympic Class ship. But the thing that was overlooked was that the Biko did appear in 'A Fistful of Datas', but it was an Oberth Class ship... So it isn't listed here.
-The USS Britannic I thought was a fitting vessel to insert here, for as many will know there was an actual 'HMHS Britannic' *, that for a while served as a hospital ship during the 1st World War. She was eventually torpedoed whilst on a mission of mercy by a German U-Boat in the Mediterranean in 1916. She herself was of the real Olympic Class, and was constructed as one of three 'super-vessels' at Haarland and Wolff ship yards in Belfast during the early 20th century. These three ships were part of the White Star line, and other than the 'Olympic', the prototype, Britannic's sister was the doomed liner RMS Titanic..
* Thanks to Paul Flint who corrected me stating its proper prefix here was HMHS Britannic (His Majesty's Hospital Ship), rather than the incorrect RMS Britannic (Royal Mail Steamer) which was only used in peace time for her sister liners Titanic and Olympic.
KEY
O= Operational
OR= Operational after Refit or Repairs
DD= In Drydock for repairs or refit *
T= Training Vessel
U= Under construction prior to preliminary trials
D= Destroyed
Sc= Scrapped or Decommissioned
PD= Presumed Destroyed
M= Missing
*A ship would visit drydock for many reasons, including refits, repairs, servicing upgrades, preliminary trials and testing of new components, and spacedock for similar reasons, as well as crew rotation, reassignment, prep period before redeployment, and so forth.
The listed specifications for ship classes are partly hypothetical, but some data such as ship lengths, weapon stats and crew complements are in some cases canon. For an explanation on the specs, and what the Ship designations mean, see Spec Definitions.
